1. Introduction
GlossAI ("GlossAI", "we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered desktop assistant for macOS and Windows. This Privacy Policy explains how GlossAI collects, processes, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our desktop application, website, and related services. Our approach is based on transparency, data minimization, and user control.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use GlossAI, we may process the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, account preferences, and subscription information where applicable.
- User-submitted content: questions, instructions, selected or highlighted screen text, screenshots or images explicitly submitted for analysis, conversation history, and saved AI responses where enabled.
- Technical information: application version, operating system, device and diagnostic information, error logs, performance information, and security-related usage information.
- Payment information: if paid services are offered, payment details may be processed by third-party payment providers. GlossAI does not intend to store complete payment card numbers.
3. Screen Content and Permissions
When you activate a screen-reading feature, GlossAI may access the content you select or explicitly submit for analysis. Depending on the feature and operating system permissions, this may include text, images, or other visible screen information. Installing GlossAI does not, by itself, mean that every application or document is continuously accessed. Screen content may be transmitted to AI service providers when necessary to generate a response. Do not submit passwords, financial credentials, confidential business information, or sensitive personal information unless authorized and aware of the associated risks. 4. How We Use Information
We use information to create and maintain accounts; provide AI-powered responses; process user-selected screen content; maintain conversation history where enabled; maintain reliability and performance; prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access; provide support; manage subscriptions and payments; and meet legal obligations.
5. AI Processing and Third-Party Providers
GlossAI uses third-party infrastructure and AI services. These may include Supabase for authentication, backend infrastructure, and database services; OpenRouter for routing AI requests to selected model providers; and other providers needed to operate the service. Relevant information may be transmitted to these providers when you submit content for AI processing. Their handling of information is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. AI requests may be routed through providers in different countries, and retention practices may vary. Confirm the actual providers, contractual terms, and data-processing locations before publication.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We may share information with infrastructure and hosting providers; AI processing providers; payment providers where applicable; security and fraud-prevention providers; professional advisers where necessary; and government authorities when legally required. Service providers should receive only information reasonably necessary to perform their contracted functions.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal requirements. Retention may differ for account information, conversation history, diagnostics, security logs, and billing records. Account deletion may not immediately erase information in backups, legally required records, or third-party systems. Actual deletion procedures and retention periods must be documented and followed.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of eligible personal information; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; object to certain processing; and request information about how your data is handled. 9. International Data Transfers
GlossAI may use service providers operating outside your country of residence. Your information may therefore be processed internationally. We will take steps required by applicable law when arranging international data transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
GlossAI is not designed for children under 13. Users below the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction must use GlossAI only with required parental or guardian authorization. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in violation of applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as GlossAI develops. Material changes will be communicated through the application or website where appropriate. The updated version will display a revised effective date.
